I will admit, I have a sickness, and I know I am boardering on that dreaded word...hoarder. The biggest difference is that this stuff isn't totally worthless, but not especially worth a fortune even as a whole. I even volunteer in a thrift store! (Note: I do not get a discount. I do not get first dibs, as things must be on the floor for at least 4 hours before we can buy on a day we volunteer. We do get a gift certificate on our birthday for a reasonable $20.I spend way more in there now, though. I know what is going to hit the floor up close and personal.)
As I look at my "ecclectic" home, I wonder where I got this desire to accumulate so much sh*t. Toys and games clutter almost every square foot of my home, but I enjoy the colors and nostalgia of it all. I get personal invitations to yard sales on facebook because people know that I will buy their strange and weird. Another blog that is one of my favorites is yard sale bloodbath that speaks of the "catch and release program". I hate HAVING yard sales, so I haven't found a way to do this yet. I think I have to organize this better. I am looking for suggestions on how to do this should you have any to offer. :O)
Today while volunteering, I see a box on a shelf that I never noticed before, and alas, inside is a super-cool Atari 2600! I can't resist the $10 price tag and this baby is mine!!!!!!!!!!! I am truly elated though, when I found one of the 3M games I have been dying to have for only $1! Granted, it is in truly crappy condition. The bookshelf box wasn't even there, but for the sake of 3M games everywhere, one day I know that I will find one in decent shape for a few bucks that has only a few of the pieces and I can marry them together. Now...all I need is someone that specializes in decorating in castoff crap interiors.
